Day 1: Nairobi – Samburu

Pick up from Airport/hotel and transfer for Samburu National Reserve. It offers unique vistas of rounded, rugged hills and undulating plains. The mix of wood and grassland with riverine forest and swamp home to a wide variety of animal and bird life, Buffalo Springs records over 365 species of bird. Game viewing and visibility is excellent: Reticulated Giraffe, Gravy’s Zebra, Elephant, Oryx, Somali Ostrich, hippo, crocodile, gerenuk, buffalo, lion, leopard, cheetah and hyena. Arrive in time for your hot lunch. Evening game drive. Dinner and overnight at Samburu Sopa lodge.

Day 2: Samburu

After breakfast, drive north to reach Samburu Game Reserve in time for lunch. An Afternoon game drive introduces you to this beautiful and game abundant park, home to rarely found species such as the Beisa Oryx, Gravy’s Zebra, blue-necked Somali Ostrich and reticulated giraffe. Dinner and overnight at Samburu Sopa Lodge.

Day 3: Samburu – Aberdares National Park

Enjoy your early morning breakfast at Samburu National Reserve. Depart after your morning breakfast for Aberdares to arrive in time for your hot lunch at your hotel. Abounding with wildlife, unfettered by the more rigorous strictures of the Kenyan National Park and designed to offer a charming blend of under canvas ambiance and uncompromising luxury, it has long been preferred retreat of wilderness and safari lovers alike. One of the only four private game reserves in Kenya. Dinner and overnight at Aberdares Ark Lodge.

Day 4: Aberdares – Lake Nakuru

Depart after breakfast for Lake Nakuru National park. The park is home to warthogs, waterbucks, buffaloes, reed bucks, and the occasional leopard. White and Black rhinos were introduced to the park some years ago and you may find white rhino at southern end. The park has also retained its reputation as an ornithologists’ delight with more than 400 species of bird found here. Arrive for your hot lunch. Enjoy your afternoon game drive at Nakuru National Park, Dinner and overnight at Nakuru Sopa Lodge.

Day 5: Lake Nakuru – Masai Mara

After breakfast, drive through the dramatic Great Rift Valley to the Masai Mara National Reserve. This enormous reserve is actually part of the vast Serengeti plains famously known for its spectacular great wild-beast migration and is home of the Big – Five; Lion, Elephant, Leopard, Buffalo, and Rhino. Lunch at Mara Sopa lodge before departing for the afternoon game drive. The Masai Mara Game Reserve is one of the greatest wildernesses of the world. Large mammals are varied and easy to see. Residents among the parks are: Masai Giraffe, Buffalo, Eland and thousand of plain game including Impala, Zebra, Topi, both Thompson’s and Grants Gazelles.

Day 6: Masai Mara

Wake up at around 5:30 am for coffee followed by an early game drive and back to the camp for a full breakfast. After breakfast proceed for another game drive visiting Mara River for hippos, crocodiles and the migration point of the wild-beasts. (There is another option of proceeding for a game drive with a packed lunch until 6:30 pm in the evening). Dinner and overnight at Mara Sopa lodge.

Day 7: Masai Mara – Serengeti

Wake up at around 6:00 am for a full breakfast and depart with a packed lunch to Serengeti National Park – a distance of 400 kms along Isbania border, arriving at the gate and begin a game drive with picnic lunch till evening. Check in Osero Serengeti Luxury Tented Camp at around 6:30 pm. Serengeti National Park is one of the largest parks in Tanzania and is bordered to the north with Masai Mara National Reserve in Kenya. It’s also one of the most visited, famous, and attractive and was voted the seventh wonder of the world because of the annual migration of the million wild – beasts from Masai Mara in Kenya to the Serengeti Plains. Serengeti covers an area of 14,763 km2. Physical attractions include rivers, swamps, plains, kopjes rocks, grasslands and woodland savannah. Animals found are the big five (Buffalos, lions, elephants, rhinos, leopards and giraffe), wild-beasts, zebras, cheetahs, hyenas and Thompson’s gazelles among others. Day 8: Serengeti

Wake up at 5:30 am for a cup of tea or coffee and start an early morning game drive till 8:30 am before a full breakfast. Proceed for a game drive till around 1:00 pm for lunch. Relax till 4:00 pm then an evening game drive till 6:30 pm. (there is another option of proceeding for a full game drive with a packed lunch till 6:30 pm). Day 9: Serengeti – Ngorongoro

Wake up at 6:00 am for a full breakfast and depart to Ngorongoro with a packed lunch – a distance of 130 kms. After arriving at Ngorongoro, descend to the crater floor about 2,000 metres with an altitude of 1,980 ft straight up from the crater floor. Ngorongoro is one of the world’s heritages as it was voted the eighth wonder of the world. Physical attractions include; swamps, grasslands, woodlands, rivers, lakes and hills among others. Animals found include; Elephants, lions, cheetahs, buffaloes, gnus, hyenas and black rhinos among others. Ngorongoro supports such an amazing variety of animal life as if Noah’s ark foundered here. Proceed with the game drive in the crater until evening with dinner and overnight at Ngorongoro Rhino Lodge.

Day 10: Ngorongoro

After breakfast we descend 600 metres into this magnificent crater for a full day game drive. The Ngorongoro crater is one of the most densely crowded African wildlife areas in the world and is home to an estimated 30,000 animals including some of Tanzania’s remaining black rhino. Supported by a year around water supply and fodder, the Ngorongoro National Park supports a vast variety of animals, which include herd of wildebeests, zebras, buffalo, eland, warthog, hippo and giant African elephants. Another big draw card to this picturesque national park is its huge population of predators, which include lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs and ever-elusive leopard. We will enjoy the picnic lunch on the crater floor. Dinner and overnight at Ngorongoro Rhino Lodge.

Day 11: Ngorongoro to L. Manyara

Wake up at 6:00 am for a full breakfast and depart to Lake Manyara – a distance of 90 kms, arriving at the gate and begin a game drive en-route to the lodge. Check in at the camp at around 1:00 pm for lunch and relax till 4:00 pm. Proceed for another game drive along the shores of Lake Manyara till 6:00 pm then back to the camp for dinner and overnight. Lake Manyara covers an area of 330 km2 of which 200 km2 is covered by the lake itself. Lake Manyara is also an alkaline lake where millions of flamingos live and different types of birds are also found here. Manyara is a masai word meaning euphorbia forests which lies along the Great Rift Valley. Manyara also provides perfect introduction to Tanzania bird life (over 400 different types of birds have been recorded including water birds such as pelicans, flamingos, cormorants, storks, fish eagles and king fishers among others). Meals and overnight at Lake Manyara Wildlife Lodge.

Day 12: Lake Manyara to Tarangire

Wake up at 6:00 am for a full breakfast and depart from Lake Manyara to Tarangire National Reserve – a distance of 110 kms arrive at the gate and begin game drive en-route to Tarangire Sopa lodge arriving at 1:00 pm for lunch and relax till 4:00 pm. Proceed to an evening game drive till 6:30 pm then back to the lodge. Tarangire covers an area of 2,850 kim2. Physical attractions include rivers, swamps, and grassland savannah and acacia forests among others. Animals found include elephants, lions, giraffes, ostriches, fringed-eyed Oryx, long necked gerenuk, zebras, impalas, buffalos, wildebeests, hart beasts and gazelles among others. Tarangire also hosts different kind of birds including the kori bustard, the heaviest flying bird and tree climbing python. Dinner and overnight at Tarangire Sopa Lodge.

Day 13: Tarangire

Morning and afternoon game drives at the park that offers wonderful panoramas of wide savannah grasslands dotted with open acacia woodland studded with large baobab trees. Elephants can be seen in herds of up to 600 at a time, along with masses of wild beasts, zebras, eland, hart beast, buffalos and Oryx, who, migrate from the dry Masai steppe to the gleaming Tarangire river in search of water during the dry season, 550 species of birds have been recorded here. Also the park has tree climbing pythons. Meals and Overnight at Tarangire Sopa Lodge.

Day 14: Tarangire – Amboseli

Wake up at 6:00 am for a full breakfast and depart from Tarangire to Amboseli through Namanga border in Kenya – a distance of 380 kms. Arrive at Amboseli Sopa Lodge late afternoon for lunch around 1:30 pm. Relax till 4:00 pm then proceed to another game drive till 6:30 pm. Amboseli covers an area of 390 km2 – physical attractions are grassland savannah, swamps and a view of Mt. Kilimanjaro (the highest mountain in Africa, 5,895 metres ). It’s also a home to elephants, giraffes, cheetah, zebras, gnus, hyenas, buffalos, among others. Amboseli is also a paradise for birds. Dinner and overnight at Amboseli Sopa Lodge.

Day 15: Amboseli

After early morning breakfast, we explore the park through morning and afternoon game drives. We have sufficient time to relax at the lodge, complete with majestic Mt. Kilimanjaro in the background. Dinner and overnight at Amboseli Sopa Lodge.

Day 16: Amboseli – Mombasa

We will be early again, the sunrise and emergence of the mountain peak from the cloud is dramatic. We will marvel at this scenario as we enjoy our breakfast. After breakfast we will depart the park with an en-route game viewing drive to rejoin the Mombasa-Nairobi highway. We will be having our lunch in Voi town then proceed to Mombasa arriving in the evening. You will be then transferred to your place of choice.
