Watamu Marine National Park & Reserve is an undersea wonderland that will delight and mesmerize you. A dive in the park takes you beneath the Indian Ocean, where you get amazed by more than 150 species of colorful fish and dazzling corals.
This is a full day trip to Watamu where you will explore Watamu Marine Park and Gede Ruins.
Itinerary
Our driver will pick you up from your hotel at 07.00 a.m and drive to Watamu Marine park. Get on a boat with a glass bottom, equipped with masks and flippers lifesaver.
Feel the breeze caress your face, the sun warm you, follow you the playful dolphins in the sea. Towards the Marine Park, where you can snorkel among beautiful colorful fish, or admire them through the glass bottom (Snorkeling takes around 2 hours 30mins).
At lunchtime, you can enjoy freshly caught fish, octopus with coconut rice, lobster, octopus, fruit and drinks on a table spread. The food will be prepared while you relax, thinking of being in paradise.
Later sail back to the shore where you will meet the driver who will drive you to Gede Ruins the ghost city. This is one of the sites of great historical interest on the coast and it is still a mystery today what exactly happened to its inhabitants. The excavations have brought porcelain, glassworks and terracotta furnishings to light. These objects are displayed in the museum next to the entrance. 20km from Malindi, the cultural interest and the ghostly air makes for an interesting visit.
Our driver will drop you back to your hotel later in the evening.
